About Injury Victim Guide
Injury Victim Guide is an independent information resource created to help people understand what happens after an accident, before they make decisions they can’t take back.
Meet the Editor
Denise Wallace is the editor behind Injury Victim Guide.
Denise Wallace spent years as a workers compensation claims adjuster, reviewing and often disputing the claims of injured workers, until the adversarial nature of the work pushed her to switch sides. She now writes about workplace injury claims, employer obligations, and the rights workers often do not know they have. At Injury Victim Guide she covers workers compensation claims, return-to-work disputes, and what to do when an employer or insurer pushes back on a legitimate injury claim.
What We Cover
Injury Victim Guide covers the personal injury claims process from start to finish, settlement values by injury type, how insurance companies calculate damages, negotiation tactics, statute of limitations by state, and when hiring an attorney makes financial sense.
Our Approach
We don’t represent attorneys. We don’t take referral fees from law firms. Our goal is to give you accurate, useful information so you can walk into any conversation, with an adjuster, an attorney, or an insurance company, with a clearer picture of where you stand.
Every guide on this site is:
- Researched from industry sources, state court records, and claims data
- Written for clarity, not to impress lawyers or search algorithms
- Updated regularly as laws, average settlement values, and claim procedures change
Important Disclaimer
Injury Victim Guide is an informational resource. Denise Wallace is a former insurance professional and researcher, not an attorney. Nothing on this site constitutes legal advice. Personal injury law varies significantly by state, and every case is different. We strongly encourage you to consult a licensed personal injury attorney before making any decisions about your claim.
